It’s the first of the year. What’s one to think about other than reflections, reassessments, and resolutions?
2024. It was such an odd year for me, and not in a bad way or anything. I didn’t do a lot last year, but moments certainly felt like a lot was happening, or going on. I’m grateful for the experiences that were had, the new friends that I made, and the little wins along the way. So let’s get to some reflection, shall we? I’ll start with some of the better moments of 2024…

One of the coolest places that I had ventured out to was earlier in the year. Nix, Gabe and myself drove a few hours away to the random city of Felicity, California. Where the so-called “Center of the World” was said to be. Before we departed, we had heard some of the funny stories surrounding this cult like area, but that didn’t stop us from wanting to check this location out. One thing I do appreciate with my smaller friend group is the abundance of adventure and curiosity that they share with me. It’s rare to find that these days. Unfortunately, nothing weird, spooky or paranormal had happened. We weren’t convinced to join some cult, and we didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, but at least we had a fun little day trip and got some cool photos from it.

COACHELLA
Let’s dance.
Next up, Coachella. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the lineup last year. However, it was the most fun Coachella experience I have ever had. The vibes all around were just ✨immaculate✨at the Empire Polo Club this year.
Lana was the biggest disappointment for me. I have such a love/hate relationship with her, but she just didn’t bring the energy for night one unfortunately. No Doubt would have been a better kick off to the weekend that was to come. Ah well, you can’t have it all. I did get to enjoy a lot of other acts though that totally made the weekend so memorable and why I love the Coachella festival and the vibes that come with it.
Sublime had to have been my favorite moment of the entire weekend. It was such an experience seeing Brad’s son Jakob perform. He sounds just like his father, and I was so emotional when he came out. When I say the vibes were immaculate, I can’t describe it any other way.
Some other highlights I enjoyed were Tinashe, Taking Back Sunday, Bizarrap, Peso Pluma, Justice, Gesaffelstein, Dom Dolla, Raye, and Vampire Weekend. I didn’t know too much about Sabrina Carpenter, other than Espresso, so I didn’t see her then. I really wish I did though, I’m obsessed with her.

I couldn’t have done Coachella with this group of fine individuals. I’m thankful and grateful that everything had worked out according to plan. I think 2024 will be my last year car camping. I think I’m starting to get a little too old for it, but it will always be my recommendation for newcomers to experience Coachella this way.
I’m excited for Coachella in 2025. The lineup actually looks pretty amazing, and a few more heads to join in on this experience this year. I’m so ready for a great time in the desert with great friends and music.

The first
Step is clearly
Defining what it is you’re after because without that
You’ll never
